Legal & Hardware Testing Disclaimer
Last updated: August 25, 2026
The information and diagnostic utilities provided by KeyboardTester ("we," "us," or "our") on keyboardtest.tech are offered strictly for general informational, educational, and hardware testing purposes.
Hardware Testing Accuracy & Technical Limitations
KeyboardTester utilizes W3C standardized web browser event APIs (primarily KeyboardEvent, PointerEvent, and Web Audio API). While these browser APIs provide millisecond-accurate event detection for standard web environments, testing accuracy is governed by client-side environment variables outside our direct control:
- Operating System Shortcut Interception: Operating system daemons (such as Windows 11 system shortcuts like
Win + Lor macOS system commands likeCmd + Option + Esc) intercept signals at the kernel driver layer before events reach web browsers. - Browser Core Overrides: Browser security rules prevent websites from suppressing certain high-level shortcuts (e.g.
Ctrl + Alt + DelorCmd + Shift + Q). - Third-Party Software & Driver Suites: Background software suites—such as Razer Synapse, Corsair iCUE, Logitech G HUB, QMK/VIA keymaps, auto-clickers, or custom macro remappers—modify physical key output before web app ingestion.
- Browser Extensions & Security Add-Ons: Ad-blockers, script-blockers, password managers, or accessibility browser extensions may intercept or swallow specific key inputs.
Diagnostic Recommendation Notice
If a physical key fails to illuminate or register on KeyboardTester, this outcome does not constitute absolute proof of physical hardware or electrical PCB failure. Before opening RMA claims, returning hardware, or attempting switch desoldering, we strongly recommend cross-referencing diagnostic results by:
- Testing the keyboard in a plain native text editor (e.g. Notepad or TextEdit).
- Disabling background key remapping software and browser extensions.
- Testing the device on an alternative USB port or separate computer system.

We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of our diagnostic utilities for commercial repair decisions.
Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall KeyboardTester, its developers, or owners be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of your use of or reliance on our hardware testing suite—including physical device damage, voided hardware warranties, desoldering errors, or lost typing data.
