Privacy Policy & Data Protection Disclosure
Last updated: August 25, 2026
At KeyboardTester (accessible from keyboardtest.tech), user privacy and data security are our core priorities. This Privacy Policy document outlines our strict technical practices regarding zero keystroke logging, data collection, third-party advertising partners, and your digital privacy rights.
1. Strict Zero Keystroke Logging Guarantee
We DO NOT collect, store, record, transmit, or monetize your physical keystrokes, key sequences, typing patterns, or timing data.
All hardware diagnostics, keycode inspections, typing test calculations, and N-Key Rollover tests are processed 100% locally inside your web browser JavaScript execution memory. No keystroke array, physical code string, or typed character string is ever transmitted over network connections to our web servers, database clusters, or external analytics endpoints.
2. Server Log Files & Technical Infrastructure
Like almost all web applications hosted on modern edge networks (such as Cloudflare Pages / Vercel), KeyboardTester follows standard web server logging protocols. When your browser requests static page assets (HTML, CSS, JS bundles), web servers automatically record standard HTTP headers:
- Internet Protocol (IP) address (anonymized at edge nodes).
- Browser user-agent string and operating system version.
- Referring site URLs and exit timestamps.
- HTTP status codes (e.g. 200 OK, 404 Not Found) and payload bytes transferred.
These server logs are used exclusively for system monitoring, server health analytics, DDoS prevention, and rate limiting. They are never linked to personally identifiable information or individual user testing sessions.
3. Cookies, Web Storage, & Local Site Preferences
KeyboardTester utilizes HTML5 LocalStorage to remember your user interface preferences between browsing sessions (such as Dark Mode vs. Light Mode selection, active OS layout tab, and sound synthesis volume). These preferences remain stored locally on your device and can be cleared at any time in your browser settings.
4. Third-Party Advertising & Partner Analytics
To maintain our web application as a free diagnostic utility, we partner with advertising networks like Google AdSense to display non-intrusive banner advertisements:
- Google AdSense & DoubleClick Cookies:Google uses cookies to serve ads based on users' visits to our site and other sites on the Internet.
- Personalized Ads Opt-Out: Users may opt out of personalized ad targeting by visiting Google Ad Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative.
5. User Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA Compliance)
Under global privacy frameworks—including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA)—users possess specific data rights:
- Right to Know & Access: You have the right to request what data is collected. Because we do not collect user accounts, names, emails, or keystroke logs, we hold zero personally identifiable user profiles.
- Right to Deletion: Users may clear local browser storage and cookies at any time to purge locally saved UI preferences.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: Using ad-blockers or declining non-essential cookies will never restrict your access to our core keyboard diagnostic suite.
6. Children's Online Privacy Protection (COPPA)
KeyboardTester does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Our service is a general-audience hardware testing application operating completely client-side without registration.
7. Privacy Policy Updates & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of our website constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For questions or concerns regarding our privacy practices, contact us at:
